He last worked in Kansas City at KSHB-TV, a Scripps-owned television station. He has also worked in Yakima, Wash. ; Tulsa, Ok la . ;  and Louisville, Ky. 

"It's a thrill to join a legendary station that's done so much not only for the people of Atlanta but also for television journalism," Wilfon said in a press release. "It's great to arrive in Atlanta at such an exciting time for the area. I can't wait to cover the emergence of Georgia as a potential battleground state in the presidential election and the opening of the new Braves and Falcons stadiums."

He is married with a 9 -month-old daughter. 

The station is still seeking a replacement for Erin Coleman, a weekday anchor who left for her hometown of Philadelphia last month.

Channel 2 Action News and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution are both part of Cox Media Group.
