Carson Kressley, the impeccably dressed fashion consultant from the iconic Bravo show "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" a decade ago, spent Friday at AmericasMart as its hired fashion ambassador.

He strolled the seemingly endless fashion booths, seeking new and interesting trends for 2015, snapping digital photos when the whim struck him. He later made a presentation to attendees picking out his faves.

I spoke to him briefly during a lunch break.

He first raved about the St. Regis Hotel. "This city has gotten so much more sophisticated over the last 10 years," he said. "Fine restaurants, spectacular shopping. And the St. Regis was fabulous. I don't ever want to leave! It's way bigger than my apartment."

In Manhattan, he lives in Midtown off Park Ave. where a one-bedroom apartment rental might set you back $3,000 a month. "I'm like Eva Gabor in 'Green Acres,' " he cracked. "Darling I love you, but give me Park Avenue!"

Kressley has popped up on TV on occasion since "Queer Eye" ended in 2007. You will see plenty more of him starting in March on the next season of Logo TV's "RuPaul's Drag Race" as a new judge, along with Ross Mathews.

"It's a great season," he said. "Ross is fantastic. And there are some amazing guest judges like Ariana Grande, Isaac Mizrahi and Olivia Newton-John." I was stoked about Newton-John: "We spent six hours together and now we're totally best friends," he said. "She's hopelessly devoted to me!"

RuPaul, by the way, spent his formative drag years in Atlanta back in the 1980s before "Supermodel" propelled him to national fame.

Kressley's favorite fashion template on "Real Housewives of Atlanta" is Kenya Moore. "She's very beautiful," he said. "I've been watching her on 'The Apprentice.' I found her to be quite impressive." And he is friends with LuAnn de Lesseps of "Real Housewives of New York"and recently taped an episode with her.

He also would love to do a makeover of Donald Trump's hair. "I've been studying it, blowing in the wind," he said. "Where it starts, where it ends. What's it made of? It's be very tricky. You don't want to do too much. It should be simple. Therein lies the reverse blow dry comb-over feathered bang. "

Kressley said he'd be totally game playing "Celebrity Apprentice." And he wouldn't have any compunction hitting folks hard if need be in the boardroom. "I'm a New Yorker. I'll throw people under a real bus!"

He's already done "Dancing With the Stars" in 2011, making it to week five despite admittedly having "zero talent. But I embraced it. I loved the music. I loved the sparkle and the outfits. I beat people who were much better than I was." He has since shown up on the show multiple times, hosted "Dancing With the Stars" live in Las Vegas and done two fan cruises. "It's paid for my teeth!" he joked.

I talked to him two days before the Super Bowl. He was psyched about Katy Perry. "She's a firework!" he said. He had no grandiose plans for Sunday night. "I'll be home in New York with a tub of  guac and queso eating my non-GMO tortilla chips." When I said I had heard more ball jokes from DeflateGate the past two weeks than I could handle, he said, "These football players are talking all my material! Stay off my turf!"

As for coming to AmericasMart, he's like a kid in a candy store. "My eyeballs are bleeding, there's so much to look at!" he said. "I have to take Ritalin every floor to stay focused!"

Among his observations:

- "There's a lot of pompom and fringe-embellished tassels. Tassels aren't just for nipples anymore! They're on shorts and top and tunics. It's really fun."

- "There's a lot of technical innovation. They're able to print on so many fabrics. They print on quilted boucle and scuba. They can laser print on quilted fabric. There's scuba nylon. There's laser cutting printed leather. Technology is cutting across all the arts."

- Sustainable materials. "I'm reacting to cork clutches which is a bamboo cork. There are also sustainable leathers."

- Southern "Preppy." "I happen to love east coast preppy. Brights. Tons of colors of prints. It looks fresh to me again."

- Still okay with lace. "The lace trend has been around for five years, which is like 14 years in the design world. But women still respond to it. Designers are reinterpreting neon and leather. And denim is a huge part of everyone's life. We're still seeing a return to not quite the bell-bottom flare leg. It's very cool."
