Daughtry is embarking on its latest tour, including a stop at Atlanta's Tabernacle September 28.

Season five fourth place finisher Chris Daughtry leads the band, which has generated 15 top 40 hits on the Hot AC chart over the years. The band just released its fifth album "Cage to Rattle." The new single "Deep End" is at No. 31 on the published Hot AC chart on Mediabase 24/7 in its second week.

In USA Today, Daughtry - who now lives in Nashville with his wife and four kids  - said he avoided trying to emulate what's hot right now in rock pop in terms a la Twenty One Pilots/Imagine Dragons.

“It’s really hard not to fall into the trap as well, because you hear it so much, and you’re like, ‘Am I supposed to be doing that?’ So fortunately, we steered clear of that," he said. "We wanted to make a very interesting record and hopefully deliver something that the fans appreciate and love as much as we do.”

Ryan Seacrest and Daughtry last week re-enacted the shocking moment when was eliminated season 5 before Elliott Yamin and Katharine McPhee.

Scotty McCreery and his family will be appearing on Steve Harvey's "Celebrity Family Feud" this Sunday against "SNL" vet Chris Kattan. Kellie Pickler did the show  few years ago and was a delight, of course.

McCreery’s charity of choice is St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

McCreery also included clips from his wedding with Gabi Dugal in his video for the new single "This Is It." The song is at No. 42 after four weeks on the country chart.
