Gov. Nathan Deal formed a committee Thursday to investigate the DeKalb County sheriff who was charged with exposing himself and then fleeing a law enforcement officer.
Deal's executive order appoints Attorney General Chris Carr, Newton County Sheriff Ezell Brown and Peach County Sheriff Terry Deese to the panel that will investigate Sheriff Jeffrey Mann.
The committee must report their findings within 30 days and, based on its findings, Mann could be suspended for a period of up to 90 days. If that happens, DeKalb's chief superior court judge would appoint an interim sheriff.

Mann has found little support from fellow law enforcement officers following his embarrassing weekend arrest. The Georgia Sheriffs' Association on Tuesday sent Deal a letter requesting that he immediately open an investigation into Mann's arrest for indecency and obstruction.
