The House and Senate have a handful of bills up for a vote this morning, but most lawmakers have their eyes on next week. Both chambers will likely have their schedules overloaded as the crucial Crossover Day deadline ticks ever closer.

Look out for a few interesting votes today, though. The House takes up H.B. 783, which stiffens penalties on those who hunt under the influence of alcohol or drugs. There's also a vote on H.B. 423, which says raccoons can be used in field trial competitions. We are waiting to see what the powerful raccoon lobby has to say about this.

The Senate's biggest vote today is on S.B. , 299, which requires local governments to submit a watershed protection plan. Green groups see it as a backdoor attempt to loosen environmental controls.
