Qualifying for elected office ends at noon. Elsewhere on the political calendar, Govs. Chris Christie and Nathan Deal host a luncheon at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, to benefit the Republican Governors Association. Entrance fee is $10,000 and upwards.

State Democratic party chairs DuBose Porter of Georgia and John Currie of New Jersey have scheduled a 9:30 a.m. conference call to get their licks in early.
