Former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich and the Dentons mega-giant law firm are parting ways.
The firm said Monday in a statement that it ended a three-year relationship with the ex-Georgia politician.
Mike McNamara, Dentons' CEO in the U.S., delivered the news to the firm's U.S. partnership in an internal email early Monday that also directed people on how to best address pending matters involving Gingrich.
Gingrich, whose Dentons' email address generated an auto-reply noting his departure, was not immediately available to comment.
Gingrich represented a northwest Atlanta district in the U.S. House for about 20 years and led the chamber for four years.
He launched a campaign for president in 2012 and joined Dentons three years after his failed run. He became an adviser to President Donald Trump and was briefly considered for a Cabinet spot.
Since leaving Congress in 1998, Gingrich built a vast array of businesses known as "Newt Inc." that made him a multi-millionaire, but collapsed during his presidential bid without him at the helm.
Since his presidential race, Gingrich has kept up Gingrich Productions and was a host on CNN's short-lived "Crossfire" revival.
And his wife, Callista, was confirmed by the Senate late last year as the U.S. ambassador to the Vatican with the help of several key Democrats.
