Up in Nashville this afternoon, Russell Moore, president of the Southern Baptist Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, asked Erick Erickson, one of his panelists, if he thought the culture wars were over.

Given that Erickson, as emcee of this weekend's RedState Gathering, is about to preside over the largest collection of presidential candidates that Georgia has seen in decades, his answer is worth noting. Said Erickson:

"And I don't mean to be flippant by that statement. But if you look at the demographic trends in this country, over the next 50 years the country will be filled with young Christian Hispanic families who listen to country music. Demographically, they're our people."
