Donald Trump has won Georgia and its crucial 16 electoral votes.
The Associated Press and broadcast networks have declared Trump the winner over Democrat Hillary Clinton.
The victory means Georgia remains a red state for at least four more years. No Democratic presidential nominee has won Georgia since Bill Clinton in 1992.
Trump dominated across Georgia's rural areas, racking up margins that out-paced Republican Mitt Romney's 2012 totals. But Clinton, according to unofficial results, flipped formerly Republican counties of Henry and Gwinnett and was maintaining a slim lead in Cobb County.
Clinton was also doing better in Fulton County than President Barack Obama did in 2012. But Trump's advantage -- and Clinton's unpopularity -- outside Metro Atlanta was the key for the Republican.
