Future surprised his fans over the weekend with an announcement that he would play a handful of pop-up concerts to pump the release of his new album, "Dirty Sprite 2."

He launched the mini-tour Monday night in Atlanta -- he'll also hit Chicago, New York and L.A. this week -- with a show at the Masquerade, which we told  you about yesterday morning .

Fans lined the outskirts of the Masquerade all day Monday, waiting for a show that began at around 11:20 p.m. According to AJC ace videographer Armani Martin, fans stood outside in the rain, singing Future's songs to keep themselves occupied, until doors to the Masquerade opened at 9:30 p.m.

Martin braved the throng to get some footage of the Atlanta rapper at his hometown "Salute the Fans" appearance and provide this account.
