The Atlanta debut of “Tootsie” has been rescheduled to 2021.

The hit Broadway musical, based on the 1982 movie, was scheduled to play the Fox Theatre Dec. 1-6. The show will still be part of Broadway in Atlanta’s 2020-2021 season – its 40th anniversary - but will now run Aug. 3-8, 2021.

“Tootsie” tells the story of Michael Dorsey, a volatile actor who becomes so difficult to work with that he forms a new identity as a woman to land a job. The production features music by David Yazbek (“The Band’s Visit,” “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels”) and won a 2018 Tony Award for best book of a musical.
