When the clock strikes midnight and the big peach starts to descend, Ludacris will be on site to help ring in the New Year .

The Atlanta rapper and pop-rockers Sugar Ray will cap the festivities at the 26th Annual Peach Drop at Underground Atlanta on New Year's Eve.

Entertainment offerings will begin at 11 a.m. on Dec. 31 on the Kenny’s Alley Stage and Budding Peach Stage (on Lower Alabama Street) and culminate with the drop of the 800-pound illuminated peach and a burst of confetti and fireworks.

All events are free.

Ludacris, who recently became engaged in a memorable fashion, is planning to release his ninth album, "Ludaversal" in March. He recently returned to the charts with "Party Girls" (featuring Wiz Khalifa, Jeremih and Cashmere Cat) and "Good Lovin'" (featuring Miguel).

The multi-faceted Ludacris will be seen in April in "Furious 7" (aka "Fast & Furious 7"). Those attending Usher's homecoming concert at Philips Arena earlier this month also got a glimpse of Luda when he popped out to perform with his old friend.

Prior to Ludacris hitting the stage on New Year’s Eve, the Mark McGrath-led Sugar Ray, the band behind such giddy late-‘90s radio fare as “Fly,” “Every Morning” and “Someday” will perform.

The band visited Atlanta in August with a show at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Alpharetta with Blues Traveler, Uncle Kracker and Smash Mouth.
