Harry Connick Jr. is using his pre-live “American Idol” time to hit the road.

Connick will embark on a winter tour that launches Feb. 4 in Durham, N.C., and swings south to Atlanta at 8 p.m. Feb. 16. The concert will take place at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre.

Tickets, on sale at 10 a.m. Dec. 5, are $52-$112 and will be available at the venue box office, all Ticketmaster outlets, www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 1-800-745-3000.

The show is expected to feature music from the talented Connick’s vast catalog, including songs from his most recent releases, “Smokey Mary” and “Every Man Should Know.”

Connick last played Atlanta in July 2013 , at a show at Chastain Park Amphitheatre.

In January, the pre-taped “Idol” auditions begin airing on Fox. This is Connick’s second year as a judge on the TV talent show, and his arrival last year injected a much-needed jolt of musical sagacity into the judging panel.

Connick’s tour will also bring him to Savannah, Jacksonville, Charlotte and Nashville. Here is a complete list of dates.
