BY MELISSA RUGGIERI

The “Hip-Hop Nutcracker” makes its Atlanta debut this weekend, and I have a four-pack of tickets to give away to see the new production.

The contemporary show, which, yes, is a family-friendly offering, sets choreography by the artistic director of a Brooklyn hip-hop crew to Tchaikovsky’s famed score.

The show arrived last year in New York and New Jersey and this season will embark on an 11-city tour that includes a performance at the Fox Theatre at 2 p.m. Nov. 28.

The Atlanta stop will also include special guest MC Kurtis Blow, a rap legend best known for his 1980 classic, “The Breaks.”

Directed and choreographed by Jennifer Weber, the artistic director of Brooklyn’s all-female hip-hop dance crew, Decadancetheatre, “The Hip-Hop Nutcracker” includes hip-hop interludes and remixes from DJ Boo and violinist Filip Pogády as well as moves from a team of a dozen dancers.

The “Nutcracker” story, reimagined by Mike Fitelson, executive director of New York’s United Palace of Cultural Arts, transforms the traditional palace of sugarplums into a romance set in 1980s-era Brooklyn.

If you want to purchase tickets ($25.50-$75.50), visit www.foxtheatre.org, call 1-855-285-8499 or stop by the Fox box office.

To enter:

Zip me an email at mruggieri@ajc.com by noon Tuesday.

I will contact the winner by 1 p.m. Tuesday and must hear back within an hour or another winner will be chosen. The tickets can be picked up at the Fox will call window Saturday before the show.

A few other notes: Please do not enter unless you can attend. Only one entry per email address will be accepted and you MUST put “Hip-Hop Nutcracker Tickets” in the subject line or you will not be eligible to win.

Also, while not a requirement, I would appreciate a follow on Facebook and/or Twitter.

Good luck! Here's a sample of the show:
