We’re used to seeing Elton John in Atlanta, but next spring, the illustrious singer will play Columbus, Ga., for the first time.

John will perform at the Civic Center on March 16 as part of a nine-city tour in support of his new album, "Wonderful Crazy Night," due Feb. 5.

The show, as per his usual outings, will focus on his extensive hit list and classic album tracks from the past five decades. Joining him onstage are longtime band members Davey Johnstone on guitar, Nigel Olsson on drums and John Mahon on percussion, as well as Atlanta native Kim Bullard on keyboards and Matt Bissonette on bass.

Tickets for the concert will go on sale at 10 a.m. Nov. 20 through all Ticketmaster outlets. Prices are TBA.

John, an occasional Atlanta resident, recently performed here in September with a rollicking set at Music Midtown . John is also continuing his Las Vegas residency with a spate of dates in January and April.
