The Academy of Country Music Awards are moving to Nashville for the 2020 edition.

The show, originally scheduled to take place in Las Vegas on April 5, was postponed due to the coronavirus. For the first time in its 55-year history, the awards celebration will be held in Nashville and broadcast from three iconic country music venues – the Grand Ole Opry House, the Ryman Auditorium and The Bluebird Café.

Keith Urban – the reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year – will host the production at 8 p.m. Sept. 16 on CBS.

The announcement of the new date and location comes with the caveat that, “All guidelines set forth by national, state and local health officials will continue to be closely followed and implemented during the production along with additional safety measures to be instated by dick clark productions and the Academy of Country Music.”

ACM Lifting Lives, the philanthropic arm of the Academy of Country Music, has also created the ACM Lifting Lives COVID-19 Response Fund to assist those working in the country music industry who are suffering a financial blow due to the pandemic. Since April 1, the fund has contributed $1.4 million. For information, visit ACMLiftingLives.org.
