We lost the great Sharon Jones a year ago tomorrow, after a long and heroic battle against cancer. Before her departure, however, the Georgia-born Jones left us with this, a cut off her new, posthumously released album "Soul of a Woman."

In an interview shortly before her death, she referenced her fondness for a gospel classic, "May the Works I've Done Speak for Me." The opening lyrics go like this:

"May the works I've done speak for me.

May the works I've done speak for me.

When I'm resting in my grave,

there's nothing to be said;

May the works the works I've done,

Speak for me."

Her works don't merely speak, they sing.
