"Conservatives have to end their intellectual isolation and self-delusions. They need to stop pretending that climate change is not occurring (the extent and the proposed solutions can be rationally discussed) or imagining that there is a market for pre-New-Deal-size government. Conservatives must end their infatuation with phony news, crank conspiracy theories, demonization of well-meaning leaders and mean rhetoric. It’s time to grow up, turn off Sean Hannity, get off toxic social media and start learning about the world as it is. (Read a book authored by someone without a talk show, spend time with non-Republicans, take an online course in economics.) Confirmation bias has become pathological."

-- Conservative blogger Jennifer Rubin of the Washington Post

Yeah, that's been a problem. One reason that political debate has atrophied in this country is because too many in the conservative world have chosen to conduct their politics in another dimension of their own making. You cannot debate or discuss issues with them because the facts that exist in our dimension do not exist in their dimension, and vice versa.

Meanwhile, though, in a completely unrelated development regarding Hillary Clinton's email server, prosecutors and FBI agents have told Washington Post reporters that they "have so far found scant evidence that the leading Democratic presidential candidate intended to break classification rules." That's important, because without evidence of intent no prosecution is likely. So the right-wing fantasy of seeing Hillary in an orange jumpsuit seems pretty far-fetched.

Nor is there any evidence to support claims by a Romanian hacker who claimed that he had succeeded in breaching Clinton's private system. Fox News had earlier reported the hacker's claims that he and others had repeatedly penetrated Clinton's system, gaining access to classified matter, but nothing like that appears to have taken place.

Finally, in a second completely unrelated item, we have this from Rush Limbaugh earlier this week:

"Let me give you one little thing: My instinctive feeling right now is that Trump is gonna win, beat Hillary badly, that it could be landslide proportions."

Like I said, neither of the two last items has anything to do with the first. And Hillary killed Vince Foster.
