Allow me to indulge myself a little on this late Friday afternoon. Weeks ago, we purchased tickets to see Stevie Wonder at Philips Arena a week from tomorrow, reprising his "Songs in the Key of Life" double album from 1976, and well, I'm just getting a little antsy.

When he played in Boston, the Boston Globe called it "epic ... Like the album itself, the two-hour-40-minute performance was a maelstrom of sound and emotion. "

In New York, the New York Times concluded "the concert was a triumph: not a simple nostalgia trip but a return visit to songs and ideas that still matter."

Ordinarily, I shy away from concerts featuring artists from back in the day, I guess under the theory that you can't go home again and expect that they, or you, are still how you remember them. I'd rather spend the time and money on performers new to me than revisit what was.

But Stevie? Doing this album?

I need a little taste, how 'bout choo?
