On a day that Barack Obama is in Hawaii visiting his ill grandmother, the breaks still go his way, as the story of a girl getting a "B" carved on her face because of her McCain bumper sticker turn out to be a hoax.

The 20 year old college student had her black-eyed photo splashed all over the internet after her account of being robbed at a Pittsburgh area ATM machine.

She even got phone calls from McCain and Sarah Palin, expressing concern over her condition.

Let's just say she'll be on the first bus back to her home state of Texas, after the authorities get through with her.

The headline about this on Politico.com is, "When It Rains, It Pours."

"Seems like McCain just can't catch a break," the story starts.

Nothing like having this story dominate the campaign conversation today, on a day that Barack Obama isn't even on the trail.

Advantage Obama for yet another day.

A political friend of mine just emailed me with his take, which I'm sure will get repeated in all kinds of circles today.

"I didn't think much one way or another, but the fact that it was a hoax is definitely not good for McCain.  Not the end of the world, but just one more thing he Does Not Need."
