A week after a report raised questions about whether President Obama had told the truth about the raid that killed Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, U.S. Intelligence released newly declassified details about items that were supposedly seized in May of 2011.
The released items included books and digital reading materials that bin Laden had, along with a number of letters and messages to his followers, most of which took straight aim at the United States.
"Today, the entire world is watching this war, and is watching the two enemies, the Muslim nation on one hand and America and its allies on the other hand," bin Laden wrote.
At times, he reacted directly to political events in the U.S., rebutting talk from the White House that attacks on Al Qaeda were succeeding.
"Bush has delivered his State of the Union address before Congress, and his speech was filled with lies and misguidance," bin Laden wrote, pushing back against the assertion that Al Qaeda had taken hits from U.S. forces.

"One wonders how the leader of the most powerful nation on earth is not ashamed of all of this deceit and lying, and how could anyone from his nation’s leaders and warlords cheer or applaud him?
The DNI also released video of what was said to be a handwritten letter by the Al Qaeda leader:
The reading list is varied - including studies from American think tanks about terrorism and Al Qaeda, articles from news magazines, and government publications like the Nine Eleven report.
