While there has been a lot of action over the past week within Republican ranks on the race for 2016, recent filings with the Federal Election Commission show two top GOP candidates from the last Presidential election - former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and former Sen. Rick Santorum - still owe substantial amounts to vendors from their 2012 campaigns.

Gingrich tops the list, with $4.6 million in debts, while Santorum faces over $463,000 in debts from the 2012 race for the White House.

One other GOP hopeful who ran in 2012, former Gov. Rick Perry of Texas, has no debt from that 2012 foray; instead he has $340,000 in cash left over from that White House bid.

As for the former U.S. House Speaker, the list of over one hundred "Debts by Vendor" shows Gingrich still owes himself almost $650,000 from loans he gave to his own bid for President, along with debts big and small to campaign strategy groups, charter jet services, the IRS, other well known Republicans and even social media companies like Twitter.
