Tony Conway, the man Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry turn to for flawless special events, has recently added a stunning new venue to his Legendary Events empire. Across the street from the stately, historic Estate on Piedmont Road  (but with a traffic flow-friendlier entrance on Maple Drive), Flourish is modern, sleek and spacious.

Local events planner Toni Moceri held her annual luncheon to benefit Children's Healthcare of Atlanta recently. The crowd included Marlene Alexander, Dottie Smith, Patti Dickey, Kelly Willet, Vicki Locke, Karin Luise, Cynthia Dawn Worthey and Kitsy Rose.

The genial Conway was pressed into service during the CHOA event to deliver a news bulletin. A special mark at one seat per table signaled who won each table's floral arrangement, he announced. There arose such a clatter that we wondered if Conway's pal Winfrey had arrived to start giving away cars.

"Ladies, ladies, " he said, coaxing the crowd out of its frenzy. "It's just a centerpiece!"

Moceri's luncheon was just one of many recent events held at Conway's new venue, as Atlanta's most prominent philanthropists have all been flocking to Flourish. A Leadership Atlanta event drew notables including Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed and "Real Housewives of Atlanta" cast member Phaedra Parks there, joining Leadership Atlanta President and CEO Pat Upshaw-Monteith.

It made its debut at the Nov. 7 Shepherd Center gala, dubbed "The Party of This Century."

Co-chaired by Cindy and Bill Fowler with honorary chairs Sandra and Larry Prince, the gala drew a capacity crowd including former CNN President Tom Johnson, who said it was the best party he'd ever attended in all his years in Atlanta.

Conway beamed the night of the big debut yet remained modest as always. In a humorous nod to the location's past incarnation, he greeted guests with a quip: "Welcome to my Jeep dealership."
