Bobbi Kristina Brown, the only child of the late Whitney Houston and R&B singer Bobby Brown, died two years ago today.
Her dad posted this tribute:
“It is hard to say goodbye. On Sunday, July 26, Bobbi Kristina Brown made her transition peacefully. The family thanks everyone for their loving thoughts and prayers,” the family announced in 2015. “As Bobbi Kristina would say: “The wind is behind me and the sun is in my face.”
She was 22, and was apparently on the cusp of launching a music career when a Jan. 31 medical emergency sent her to the hospital. One of her final Twitter posts, loaded with smiley face and musical instrument emoticons, hinted at a recording project in the works: "Let's start this career up and moving OUT to TO YOU ALLLL quick shall we !?!???"
She was found unresponsive in a bathtub and rushed to a hospital near her North Fulton home, after which she was taken to Emory, and eventually a Duluth hospice.
"Despite the great medical care at numerous facilities, Bobbi Kristina Brown's condition has continued to deteriorate," he aunt and legally appointed co-guardian Pat Houston said in a statement released at the time of transition. "We thank everyone for their support and prayers. She is in God's hands now."
Bobbi Kristina's one-time companion Nick Gordon was found "legally responsible" for her death. Representatives for Bobbi Kristina's estate filed a civil suit against Nick while Bobbi Kristina was still alive and amended it after death. The default ruling was issued after Nick failed to appear at a hearing; he later was ordered to pay $36 million.
No criminal charges have been filed in connection with Bobbi Kristina’s death.
TV One announced earlier this year they're developing a biopic, "Bobbi Kristina," about her life. It will star Joy Rovaris in the title role with "Real Housewives of Atlanta" personality Demetria McKinney playing Bobbi Kristina's mother, the late Whitney Houston and Hassan Johnson cast as her father, R&B singer Bobby Brown. Vivica Fox will play Bobbi Kristina's aunt, Pat Houston.
