Announced on March 31, Wild Heaven’s new beer named after Dr. Anthony Fauci, called Fauci Spring, is now available for purchase. The pale ale brewed with acai and experimental hops pays homage to the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and the country’s most visible medical expert on the coronavirus pandemic.

Part of Wild Heaven's Happiest Hour Exploration Project, Fauci Spring was announced alongside AJC beer writer Bob Townsend's April 10 Beer Pick, a Vienna lager called Don't Stand So Close To Me.

The cleverly named beers and their quick release has grabbed national attention for the local brewery. Commenters on Instagram have inquired about its availability for nationwide shipping and Fauci Spring was featured on TMZ.com.

Fauci Spring and  Don’t Stand So Close To Me are available at both of Wild Heaven’s locations. The Avondale brewery is open from 1-6 p.m. daily while the West End location is open from 12-8 p.m. daily. Both beers are sold in four-packs of 16-ounce cans; Fauci Spring costs $10.99 while Don’t Stand So Close To Me costs $11.99.
