Working on the project with Karatassos is sought-after food photographer Francesco Tonelli. Tonelli has photographed numerous cookbooks, including "I love NY," "The Nomad Cookbook" and "Eleven Madison Park" – all titles by chef Daniel Humm and Will Guidara.

Other Tonelli clients include Cooking Light, The New York Times, Kraft Foods, Chobani and The Culinary Institute of America, where he was an instructor for eight years.

Tonelli is currently in Atlanta for a multi-day photo shoot for the new cookbook.

Karatassos is the son of Atlanta dining legend and Buckhead Life Restaurant Group founder Pano Karatassos. The younger Karatassos has been working in the industry since the age of 16 when he began cooking at his father’s Atlanta restaurants Pano’s & Paul’s, The Fish Market and 103 West.  Karatassos went on to graduate from The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York in 1996, and from Florida International University in 1993 with a degree in Hospitality Management.

He worked in such notable kitchens as the French Laundry, Jean-Georges and Le Bernardin prior to assuming the role of executive chef at Kyma, open since 2001, and leadership within Buckhead Life Restaurant Group.

Karatassos joins a growing list of names for the Atlanta dining scene with cookbooks to their names . In the last few years, Kevin Gillespie, Hugh Acheson, Steven Satterfield and, most recently, Asha Gomez of Spice to Table Indian restaurant , all saw their cookbooks hit the market.
