Word of Mouth Restaurants has announced the opening of Vero Pizzeria on Dec. 8 in Brookhaven. The casual dining concept is located between sister restaurants Haven and Valenza on Dresden Drive, and will serve a menu of custom pizzas, small bites, salads and Italian beverages focused on "the tastes of Napoli and the Campania region of Italy."

The restaurant’s interior design showcases a playful blend of rustic finishes and modern appointments that highlight the theatre of pizza making. The dining room is fun and vibrant, yet cozy and casual. vero pizzeria features unique architectural pieces, weathered wood finishes and custom lighting. The star of the show in the dining room will no doubt be the Acunto pizza oven crafted by Gianni Acunto Forni, a small family business that has crafted pizza ovens since 1892.
The restaurant also showcases a custom temperature controlled “dough room,” where guests will be able to watch the dough being made by hand as they dine. Sister restaurant, Valenza will also utilize the dough room to make handcrafted pastas for Valenza. vero pizzeria strives to bring a touch of authentic Italy to the Brookhaven neighborhood with this classic napoletana pizzeria. The concept is similar to a fast-casual establishment, yet guests will have a dedicated server to cater to their every need once they’ve placed their initial order at vero pizzeria’s counter.
Chef Matt Swickerath oversees the kitchen at vero pizzeria, bringing his knowledge and skill of Italian cooking. The menu features six to eight custom pies topped with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. Patrons will also have the option to build their own Margerita pizza and choose from the fresh toppings available that day. In addition to vero pizzeria’s pizza options, the restaurant features numerous small plates including roasted seasonal vegetables, charcuterie and several salads to accompany the main course – pizza. The traditional and market-driven menu will embody the farm-to-fork philosophy that holds true with all Word of Mouth Restaurants. Guests will have the option to dine-in, take out or pre-order for curb-side pickup.
