The Weekender: Food events in Atlanta Sept. 18-20

Thank goodness it's Friday! Here’s your guide to a good time this weekend. The following four events are all happening around town, so be prepared to eat, drink and have a grand time.

Foodie pop-up shop: Eat Here ATL Insta Eat Up & Pop Up Shop, the food-centric event will feature local vendors selling well, food and drinks from 2-6 p.m. at Made Again in Inman Quarter. Look out for cool, yummy frozen treats from Queen of Cream  as well as Wanderlust , which will serve signature cold brews.

Dinner party: Decatur's most talented chefs are teaming up to cook a feast benefitting Global Growers, a nonprofit organization well-known for their two Decatur urban agriculture projects – Decatur's Kitchen Garden and Umurima. The event will feature a multi-course of fresh produce, handcrafted cocktails, local beer and wine selection from 6-10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19. For the first course, Farm Burger 's Chef Stella Dillard will prepare a caveman flatbread and field pea dip to accompany Victory Sandwich Bar's gazpacho. Other participating restaurants include No. 246, Revival, Makan, Twain's BrewPub, Sawicki's and Leon's. Tickets are $150 and available here.

After-dinner party: Go to Watershed for dinner and stay for the after party with DJ Yvonne Monet. Yvonne will start spinning tunes at 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19 and will keep the party going until 1 a.m. Bring friends, meet new ones and celebrate the weekend with good food and fancy footwork.

Wine tasting: Guests will enjoy 12 wines presented in four flights and paired with appetizers by executive chef Matt Marcus at Portofino 's monthly wine tasting session. The tasting will be led by wine expert Michael Gallant; it will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20. The cost is $35 per person, including tax and gratuity.
