There’s lots of food and fun events happening around town this weekend, but call or check the site for each first; inclement weather may affect some events. Nonetheless, thank goodness it’s Friday.
Bounty in your backyard: Learn how to harvest fruit trees, homegrown apples, lettuce, spinach, chard, kale and much more in your own backyard at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3 at Pike Nurseries . Whether attendees are skilled, gourmet gardeners or home chefs looking to grow their own ingredients, Pike Nurseries will provide expert tips and tricks to ensure a bountiful cool season harvest.
Latino flavor: Taste foods such as empanadas, mole, tacos and more at the second annual Latino Taste Festival from 12-8 pm. Saturday, Oct. 3. Several restaurants will represent countries including Mexico, El Salvador and Nicaragua. Live performers will also spice things up, so get ready for a good time and feel free to show off your fancy footwork. The festival will be held at 305 Depot St. in Dalton.
Beer and burgers: Over 30 breweries in Georgia will showcase their signature craft beers at the Georgia Craft Beer Festival , which runs from 12-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6. Held adjacent to Red Brick Brewing, this fourth installment will feature games, live entertainment, food and lots of craft beer. Since burgers go great with beer, the Buckhead Shake Shack will be will be on-site, flipping its signature burgers throughout the day.
Delicious deals: Decatur Restaurant Week kicks off Sunday, Oct. 4. and over a dozen restaurants including Wahoo!
