Do Coca-Cola and peanuts cut it?
Yesterday, the AJC's Greg Bluestein reported that Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker placed a wager featuring some of each state's top products in advance of this Sunday's NFC Championship game.
If Green Bay wins, Deal is offering up a bottle of Coca Cola, chili dogs from The Varsity, peach pies from Dickey Farms, Georgia peanuts and two six-packs of Creature Comforts' Tropicalia , while Wisconsin will be on the hook for Leinenkugel's Wisconsin Red Pale Ale, a box of chocolates from Seroogy's Chocolates in De Pere, jars of honey from Wisconsin Natural Acres, assorted Wisconsin artisan cheeses, crackers and sausage and a pair of Travel Wisconsin Old Fashioned glasses.
This begs the question -- is this the best of what Georgia has to offer? They're good picks, no doubt -- iconic food and drink items that are representative of some of the state's favorites.
