Cooking kosher is difficult. Running a restaurant that is kosher-certified is even harder.
Until now there was only one fully kosher-certified sit down restaurant in Atlanta. In 2016, food and dining editor Ligaya Figueras explored Atlanta's kosher options and found some eateries but not many options that adhere to the Jewish dietary laws of kashrut.
Luckily, Cafe Bello is here to fill the gap. The new Israelian restaurant will open on June 4 in Chamblee.
Along with salad and sandwiches the menu will feature some classics like baba ganoush, shakshuka ( a Middle Eastern egg dish made with tomato, red pepper and olive oil), and falafel.
Cafe Bello has been kosher-certified by the Atlanta Kosher Commission, an Orthodox community-based non-profit kosher supervising agency.
Other kosher friendly eateries in Atlanta include Fuego Mundo in Sandy Springs, the Spicy Peach in Toco Hills, and The Kosher Gourmet.
