Last call for mofongo and maduros: Buen Provecho in Marietta closing at end of month

A popular Marietta Puerto Rican restaurant is closing at the end of July.

Buen Provecho, which opened in 2015 at 2468 Windy Hill Road, will cease service after July 27. Owner Elmer Passapera started the business the business as a catering company in 2007 and expanded to a food truck in 2011.

Passapera, who is closing the restaurant to move to Florida with his family, posted a video on the Buen Provecho’s Facebook page addressing the closure. An employee at the restaurant also confirmed the restaurant’s last day.

Buen Provecho served a variety of Puerto Rican staples including mofongos, chuletas, pernil and tostones.

In 2017, Passapera helped organize a donation drive for victims of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico.
