Kickstarter for The Mercury opening at Ponce City Market

Brooks Cloud, Julian Goglia, and Mike Blydenstein, the team behind The Pinewood in Decatur and Proof Old Fashioned Cocktail Syrup , have announced the opening a new restaurant, The Mercury, at Ponce City Market.

In advance of the planned opening in late 2015, Cloud, Goglia and Blydensteinare have posted a Kickstarter campaign for supporters to "donate directly to the restaurant's development."

Billed as "a cocktail-focused, classic American eatery inspired by the culture of the 1960’s," The Mercury will offer "updated takes on Mid-Century American cuisine and classic cocktails."

Connecting directly with the Atlanta BeltLine, The Mercury will occupy a space on the second floor of The Central Food Hall at Ponce City Market. Atlanta’s Square Feet studios is currently designing the 4,400 foot restaurant. The Mercury will seat 200, with 95 seats in the bar and lounge, 64 seats in the main dining room and 41 on an indoor patio and drink rail overlooking the first floor promenade of Ponce City Market.

Executive Chef Mike Blydenstein will offer a menu of perfectly-executed classic American fare which will include an extensive raw bar, steaks and chops, and balanced, straightforward entrees featuring seasonal produce and responsibly-sourced protein. Beverage Director Julian Goglia is curating a bar experience that is inspired by the relaxed glamour of Mid-Century cocktail culture. The Mercury plans to serve lunch and dinner seven days a week and will offer a daily Cocktail Hour.
