James Beard Foundation benefit dinner, bourbon dinner and more in metro Atlanta

Six-course dinner to benefit the James Beard Foundation’s Women’s Leadership Programs. Four-course book signing. There are several fun, food events happening in metro Atlanta, so add one or all three of the following activities to your calendar. Be prepared to eat, drink and have a grand ole time.

Monday, Jan. 15: Mixologist Tiffanie Barriere, chef Deborah VanTrece and chef Jennifer Hill Booker will host a six-course collaborative dinner and cocktail pairing at  Twisted Soul Cookhouse & Pours beginning at 6 p.m. The menu will include chitterling sausage, Springer Mountain smoked chicken, crawfish quenelles, hog head cheese, oxtail rillettes and much more. While food will be the focus of the evening, the event will also debunk the myths of soul food and spark discussions about its history and challenges faced by minorities, specifically women and African Americans. Proceeds from the evening will benefit James Beard Foundation’s Women's Leadership Programs which address the most pressing issues women chefs face. Tickets, which are $100, can be purchased here.
