Big Daddy Dog Biscuits are go-to dog treats all year ‘round, but for the holidays, founder Lauren Janis has dreamed up a few special treats. She’s baked gluten-free Bundt cakes made with organic pumpkin, cranberry and cinnamon. And she’s filled sweet little jars with charcoal dinner mints.
They’re packaged with baker’s twine so you can hang them from your Christmas tree. She likes to call these mints the “best coal your dog can receive.” They’re made with activated charcoal to help with digestion and parsley and mint to give your pup fresh breath.
$6 per Bundt cake, $6 per dinner mint ornament or $15 for 3. Available at the Big Daddy Biscuit booth at the Marietta Square Farmers Market, 65 Church Street, Marietta, or pre-ordered through firstname.lastname@example.org for other delivery options.
CityDog Market in Brookhaven and Avondale Estates offers locally made, gluten-free, grain-free treats made in Georgia. There are beef, chicken, duck, sweet potato and two different kinds of chicken treats. Their best-selling biscuits - Bacon Bones and Belly Rub Bones - aren’t made in Georgia, but they fly out the door. The shops carry a wide range of healthy pet food as well and you can bring your pup in for a holiday bath in the self-service dog wash. Need a class in obedience as a holiday gift? They can take care of that, too, with classes in their Brookhaven shop.

Lots of Licks Pet Treats
Shannon Molasso of Lots of Licks Pet Treats in Canton has been busy baking holiday cookies for your favorite dog. Gingerbread men, Christmas stockings and trees, and snowmen are just a few of the special treats available now.
All are wheat-free, dairy-free and preservative-free. When she’s not baking for the holidays, she has a whole range of special dog treats available.
Our furry children loved her Blueberry Yummies but she also bakes doggie donuts, grain-free peanut butter bites made with coconut flour, Peanut Butter Oatmeal Bites, Pumpkin Treats, and Blueberry Gummies loaded with vitamins and antioxidants. She bakes “pup” cakes and will even make your fur baby a birthday cake and deliver it at no extra charge.
Treats are $7.99 per 7-ounce bag, $11.99 per 1-pound bag. Available at http://www.lolpettreats.com/.
Paw Prints Treats
Kate Bunting and Alyssa Gentry started Paw Prints Treats when they felt stymied in their search for natural and healthy treats for their three dogs. Now they bake treats for their dogs and ours in their Marietta kitchen. All their treats are made five ingredients or less and all with ingredients you would recognize. Their baked treats include peanut butter and banana trees made with oat flour, banana and natural peanut butter and gingerbread stocking cookies made with oat flour, cinnamon, ginger and honey. The icing is made from yogurt. Their Turkey Dinner Sweet Potato chews are sliced sweet potatoes dehydrated with turkey bone broth. Our pups love them all.
Peanut butter trees and gingerbread cookies are $1 per treat. Bags of bone-shaped peanut butter banana treats are available for $8.50. Sweet potato chews are $1.50 each or $8 per bag. Available during the market season at the Roswell and Sandy Springs farmers markets and online at http://www.pawprintsdogtreats.com/.
Wonder Dog Bakery
Jennifer Scott and Michele Sorkin bake pet treats all year in their Hiram and Kennesaw kitchens. They use only ingredients from USA sources and add Vitamin E oil to their treats which serves as a natural preservative. They say each batch of treats has a 9-month shelf life, but our pups have certainly never let any stay around that long.
There’s nothing in these treats you wouldn’t eat yourself, and the bakers say they’ve tried them all and that they’re quite yummy. Consider making a holiday gift of their “Wonder Dogs of Woodstock” 2019 calendar featuring the dogs that visit them at the seasonal Woodstock Farm Fresh Market. Part of the proceeds goes to Mostly Mutts Rescue in Kennesaw.
$7.99 per 4-ounce bag, $10.99 per 8-ounce bag. $6.99 for sample bags with some of each of their six flavors. Custom gift bags available for $34.99 including three 4-ounce bags of treats, a toy and a bandana saying “I’m a Wonder Dog.” Available at https://www.wonderdogbakery.net/ and at Dean’s Store, 8588 Main Street, Woodstock, and Cupcakelicious, 8654 Main Street, Woodstock. 678-838-9663.
