It's been quite a day for Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q.
This morning the company announced the closing of Big Tex Decatur. This afternoon, it responded to a recent Jezebel post with the headline Atlanta Hostess Fired For Using Racial Slur In Front of Customers .
Here is the statement:
On behalf of Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q we refute the assumptions made in Jezebel Magazine today regarding racist comments made by an employee on Labor Day weekend. Once we discovered the incident via social media, we sent the employee home, investigated further and decided to terminate the next day – almost two months before the Yelp review was posted.
Having not been there when the incident happened, Fox Bros. senior management dealt with the incident swiftly and judiciously as soon as it was presented.
We at Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q do not tolerate racism. We would appreciate your full cooperation in retracting the assumptions made in light of actual events.
