One of Atlanta's most prolific restaurateurs has plans to add another eatery to his empire in 2018.
Ford Fry, who has conquered seafood with Beetlecat , The Optimist and St. Cecilia ; steak with Marcel ; Tex-Mex with The El Felix and two locations of Superica ; Italian with No. 246 ; and upscale American fare with JCT Kitchen , Bar Margot and King + Duke is set to open a yet-to-be-named sister to his Tex-Mex offerings next summer in Morningside.
The spot, to be located at 1878 Piedmont Ave. (the former home of Anchor Bar & Tattoo), will offer a menu with wood-roasted "chicken al carbon" at its core, with dishes "encouraging a healthy lifestyle" according to a press release, including salads, salsas and hand-made tortillas. Takeaway options including breakfast tacos and whole chicken will also be available.
In addition to his Atlanta ventures, Fry also owns State of Grace in Houston, and has plans to open a Superica there, as well.
