With free strengthening and dance classes, dining at the following places will keep you fed and fit.
Escorpion: Kick start your weekend with dinner and dancing at this regionally-inspired Mexican tequila bar and cantina in Midtown, which features food faves like quesadillas, tamales and molcajete. At 8:30 p.m. Friday, June 13, the restaurant will host a live band and offer free salsa lessons.
Whole Foods Market: In all likelihood, you're shopping and eating here because you appreciate the selection of natural and organic foods, right? And, it helps that you can taste almost everything in the prepared foods department—from summer kale to barbecue salmon to cheese pizza—for free. Before all of that, bring your mat, towel and swing by the Ponce de Leon Avenue location at 8 a.m. on Sundays for "Yoga with Annie," a free yoga class to help you stretch and strengthen your body. RSVP at the customer service counter or send an email to nourishwithannie@gmail.com.
Coco Cabana: If you're counting calories, this restaurant in Tucker is the perfect place for food and fitness—in the form of fancy footwork. With a menu that includes fried cassava, mofongo and media noche (a smoked ham, roast pork, cheese and pickle sandwich), the free salsa lessons from 7-9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays may help keep you satiated and in shape.
