The ride must go on. That's the mentality of two individuals from the Atlanta dining scene as they hit the road this week to raise money for No Kid Hungry, an organization dedicated to ending childhood hunger.
Jamie Adams and Leonardo Moura, owners of Il Giallo Osteria & Bar in Sandy Springs, had planned to participate this week in the annual Chef's Cycle, a 300-mile bicycle trip in Charlottesville, Virginia. However, the event was canceled due to poor road conditions in the area caused by Hurricane Florence. Yet Adams and Moura will still ride. They are the only participants who still plan to cycle for the cause.
Plan B will see the longtime cycling enthusiasts spin their wheels around metro Atlanta. Adams and Moura will ride 100 miles Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week, taking off daily at 7 a.m. at the restaurant, located at 5920 Roswell Road.
The pair has already raised $13,000 towards their $15,000 goal. A portion of the funds that they raise will be donated to help those in North Carolina impacted by Hurricane Florence.
Those interested in supporting the duo are invited to cheer the restaurateurs as they take off from the Il Giallo each morning. Monetary pledges can be made on the Chef's Cycle donation pages for Adams and Moura.
