Dinner and a movie await on Buford Highway

Watching movies is a favorite pastime in the lazy days between Christmas and New Year's. If you already saw "Star Wars: The Force Awakens ," consider hitting up Buford Highway for a flick plus international food.

On Tuesday, Dec. 29, Chamblee's Canton House will be the site for the second installment of Buford Highway Foreign Cinema, an independent food and film series showcasing popular foreign films juxtaposed with Buford Highway's international cuisine .

Presented by We Love BuHi and Videodrome, the latest Foreign Cinema will feature a screening of the 2000 Wong Kar-wai film “In the Mood for Love” and a multi-course, family style meal featuring fare from eateries along Buford Highway. Tickets are $35 per person and include dinner and a seat at the film screening.

Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m., with the film scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. A separate meal is available for vegans and vegetarians. Beer and wine will also be available for purchase.

“In the Mood for Love” stars Hong Kong actors Tony Leung Chiu-Wai and Maggie Cheung. The film captures the intense, bittersweet longing of a couple, married to other people, who are renting neighboring apartments and who eventually discover that their spouses are having an affair.
