Celebrity chef Sean Brock's acclaimed restaurant Husk Nashville has closed temporarily after suffering damage from an electrical fire that occurred shortly after midnight on Sept. 8.

David Howard, president of Neighborhood Dining Group, which operates the restaurant, released the following statement:

"We appreciate the outpouring of local and industry support following the fire on September 8 at Husk Nashville. Thankfully no one was injured and the damage is not as extensive as initially thought. The fire was limited to the electrical room, dish room and roof, and no damage was done to the main dining room or kitchen.

Contractors are assessing the damage and have begun demolition/rebuilding. We should have a better idea of a timeline for reopening in the coming days. We will not be closed long and want our valued staff to be able to work again quickly."

Chef Sean Brock pauses from the bustle of readying his first Atlanta restaurant, Minero, for opening. Doors are expected to unlock next week at this casual Mexican concept inside Ponce City Market. The Nashville outpost opened in 2013, three years after the original Husk location in Charleston unlocked its doors.

The Neighborhood Dining Group also operates McCrady's in Charleston, Chicago's Steak and Seafood in Roswell, Ga. and casual Mexican eatery Minero, with locations in Charleston and in Atlanta. Minero opened in Atlanta's Ponce City Market last fall . The group is also expanding the Husk concept, adding a location in Greenville this fall and in Savannah in 2017.
