March 8 marks International Women's Day, an annual recognition of women's achievements.
Here, we list events and some of the women-owned restaurants, culinary and beverage businesses throughout metro Atlanta, in honor of International Women’s Day.
Events
Lady Locavaores. Community Farmers Markets is hosting this event that celebrates the women of Atlanta's local food movement. A team of all-women chefs and bartenders -- including Yohana Solomon from Kushina Catering, Holly Chute from Georgia Grown and The Drinking Coach Tiffanie Barriere and Rosie Blair from Empire State South -- will create the food and drink for the evening, with ingredients sourced from local farmers and artisans. In addition, CFM will present awards to four women who have helped other women in the food industry. Funds from the event will be directed towards CFM's culinary education program, which helps increase food and nutritional literacy through at-market and in-neighborhood educational cooking demonstrations for the community.

Urban Tree Cidery. From 4-6:30 p.m., all female guests will receive a complimentary pint of their favorite cider with the purchase of a cider flight.

Hop City Craft Beer & Wine. In honor of International Women's Collaboration Brew Day, women can attend the shop's $15 beginner homebrewing class on March 10 for half price.

Reformation Brewery. The brewery will offer buy-one-get-one pints starting at 5 p.m. March 8. On March 29, the brewery will tap a limited release session beer infused with hibiscus that will be made on International Women's Day by female members of Reformation's team, with $1 per pint going to the Pink Boots Society, an organization that aims to educate and encourage women in the beer industry.
