Celebrate Georgia Beer Day in metro Atlanta with these events and brews

The past year was a big one for the Georgia beer industry.

The state's new beer law, which allows craft beer and liquor manufacturers to sell directly to consumers, was passed in 2017 , and went into effect in September.

Even more reason to celebrate Georgia Beer Day, which falls on Jan. 27. Several local breweries are hosting events to recognize the Georgia Craft Brewers Guild, and we have plenty of suggestions for what to drink:

Gate City Brewing Company will donate proceeds from all "Drink Georgia Beer" T-shirt sales to the Georgia Craft Brewers Guild, and will offer food for purchase starting at noon and live music starting at 7 p.m. Get more information here.

Monday Night Garage will release its newest IPA, Beyond the Clouds . 25 percent of all Beyond the Cloud sales on Saturday will be donated to the Georgia Craft Brewers Guild. Want to skip the lines? Reserve your bottle at garage.craftcellr.com . Get more information here.

SweetWater Brewery is releasing two new beers from its Woodlands Project (one for Woodlands members only) from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. $1 from every crowler sold and 10 percent of sales from SweetWater merchandise will be donated to the Georgia Craft Brewers Guild. Food from Charm & Jerry's, Spotted Trotter Charcuterie and In Demand Cheese will be available for purchase. Also look for deals on 21st Anniversary Party Tickets. Get more information here.
