Have your cake and eat it too.

Quit counting calories, at least when it comes to cakes this Christmas. From dark chocolate to flour-less and banana cream to sugar free (if you simply must resist), the following five places offer some of the most delicious desserts in Atlanta (and online).

The Ritz-Carlton: Some things are simply decadent, and The Ritz-Carlton's signature dark chocolate cake is one of them. The recipe is under wraps, but here are a few details to tantalize your taste buds: dense chocolate cake soaked with Grand Marnier and layered with dark chocolate ganache. To order, call 404-659-0400; also available at the Buckhead and Lake Oconee locations.

Proof Bakeshop: Yule love this: bûche de Noël, a log-shaped cake. Yummy cakes such as sweet potato pound and lemon pound are also available.

Cami Cakes: Sure, this bake shop is known for cupcakes, but they offer layer cakes too—in over 20 flavors including pineapple toasted coconut, carrot and banana cream.

Southern Art: For the ultimate in decadent desserts and customer service, visit Buckhead Southern Art's Pie Stop. Opt for the maple spice bundt or flourless chocolate decadence cake. In hurry? Curbside pick-up is available at the InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta valet where the restaurant is located, 48 hours after orders are placed.

Matthews 1812 House: For savory sugar-free country cake, order from this specialty online retailer. Other holiday cake options include chocolate raspberry liqueur, chocolate rum and the classic fruit and nut.
