Ready for another excuse to eat, drink and be schmoozy?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has announced a new signature event — the AJC Dunwoody Wine Fest. This all-inclusive experience will feature more than 40 distinguished wines to try along with food items prepared by dozens of local restaurants. It will be held outdoors, rain or shine, at the corner of Hammond Drive and Perimeter Center Parkway, across the street from the Dunwoody MARTA station. 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 11. $65 in advance, $85 at the entrance.
In addition, a special VIP tasting — with reserve wines, hors d’oeuvres and live entertainment — will be at the Le Meridien Atlanta Perimeter Hotel. Tickets for the VIP tasting are $175.
Tickets to both events can be purchased online at www.ajcwinefest.com, and a portion of proceeds from this inaugural event will benefit the Giving Kitchen, a nonprofit whose mission is to provide crisis grants to members of Atlanta's restaurant community facing unanticipated hardship. Guests must be 21 or older.
