5Church partner and executive chef Jamie Lynch was selected as a contestant on "Top Chef" Season 14, which was filmed in Charleston, SC, earlier this year and is scheduled to debut on Dec. 1 on Bravo. Lynch currently divides his time between 5Church's three locations in Charleston, Charlotte, and Atlanta, which was reviewed by AJC dining critic Ligaya Figures in September .
A graduate of the New England Culinary Institute in Burlington, Vermont, Lynch trained under Michael Mina at Aqua in San Francisco and Daniel Boulud, Andrew Carmellini and Charlie Palmer in New York City.
After moving to Charlotte in 2002 Lynch worked at Ethan's, before opening 5Church Charlotte in 2012 with Owners Patrick Whalen, Alejandro Torio and Ayman Kamel, then went on of open 5Church's second location in Charleston in November 2015 and third location in Atlanta in June 2016 . He was named Charlotte Magazine's Best Chef in 2013, 2014 and 2015.

In an unparalleled twist, eight acclaimed chefs from across the country will unpack their knives alongside eight chefs from seasons past, who have never won the prestigious title and are back for redemption. Sitting at the judges table for season 14 are host Padma Lakshmi, head judge Tom Colicchio, and Gail Simmons who are joined by new judge and Top Chef Masters" alum, Graham Elliot.
