Filmmakers gather around because Film Pitch ATL is bringing you a “Shark Tank” reminiscent type of festival on Oct. 26.

Cinema Life, the organization behind the festival, is giving filmmakers a unique opportunity right here in Atlanta. “We have three filmmakers that are pitching their upcoming projects in front of our panel of experts,” Caroline King, Founder and CEO of Cinema Life, told Fox 5. “Our panelists are people who are experts in the film industry. We have Alpha Tyler from Alpha Tyler Casting, we have Michael McCoy, who’s a small business investor but also an investor in film, and we also have Marquel Young, who is an amazing film producer and a personal friend of ours as well. And Ronald Peril, he is another really great, amazing producer.”

After audiences watch local filmmakers pitch their projects in front of the panel of industry professionals, there will be a Q&A. “These filmmakers are getting feedback from these experts in the industry, so it’s a learning experience for them, not just for the filmmakers but also for the people in the audience who are watching. It’s really exciting to be able to watch these projects unfold, get the feedback, but also just the networking,” King said.

Not just for filmmakers, Film Pitch ATL also hopes to connect all different facets of the industry. “This is where you’re going to find your team,” Aaron Nedrick, Event Coordinator at Cinema Life, told Fox 5. “You’re going to find line producers, directors, investors, actors… it’s a one-stop shop, and you get to meet people who are starting their own careers at the same time, so you have this trajectory that’s really great to build off of and you’re meeting people who have experience as well. It’s a great melting pot of levels of experience as well as passion.”
