2 Chainz on becoming Atlanta-based Krystal’s first-ever head of creative marketing

The rapper 2 Chainz is expanding his business catalog with his latest partnership.
You may know 2 Chainz for his music, but his portfolio has expanded so much throughout the years. The “I’m Different” rapper was recently announced as Krystal food chain’s first-ever head of creative marketing. The collaboration allows 2 Chainz to develop brand strategies, such as redesigning the menu and changing the location of the fast food chain he frequented growing up on Atlanta’s southside.

2 Chainz led Krystal’s new “Side Chik” campaign, which featured three different chicken sandwiches, with help from singer, actor and entrepreneur Ray J as a brand strategist, along with social media influencer, Brittany Renner. “I do eat chicken sandwiches from time to time, and this was something slacking,” 2 Chainz said. “I wanted to have something that was true to myself and something fun to have.”
This isn’t the Georgia Park native’s first taste of the restaurant business. 2 Chainz has had a restaurant of his own for the past six years with his business partner Mychel “Snoop” Dillard – Esco Restaurant and Tapas. While there may be three locations in metro Atlanta now, the Esco restaurant footprint is set to expand to Columbus, Ohio, Dallas and Memphis. “I came along not knowing much but knowing that I have a really powerful influence,” 2 Chainz said. “Over the years, I’ve learned about hospitality and what it takes to run a good business. That on my resume made it easier for me to take on the job with Krystal.”

2 Chainz continues to expand his entrepreneurial footprint with a number of different projects. The entrepreneur made his feature film debut this year as a crime kingpin alongside Antonio Banderas in “The Enforcer.” He also dove into the sports world in 2019 as the minority owner of the College Park Skyhawks—the G-league affiliate of the NBA franchise, the Atlanta Hawks. If you thought that was the end of his catalog, think again! 2 Chainz also owns the Pamper Nail Salon, which offers make-up, lash services and male grooming services.
We could go on and on about how many pots 2 Chainz has his hands in, but we might be here all day. Congrats to the businessman on his newest endeavor with Krystal’s and everything that’s to come. You can check out one of the videos from the Krystal’s campaign below!
