On Tuesday, the W Hotel in Midtown announced its rebranding and renovation as The Starling, joining Hilton’s boutique Curio Collection.

The refresh includes Lantana, the hotel’s new bar and lobby lounge led by Chef Cole Pate, formerly of the Southern Gentleman and Gyspy Kitchen.

The lounge, named after a dazzling flower known for its brightly colored blooms, offers full-service dining from breakfast to dinner to late-night drinks to guests and visitors. Cocktails such as the Mandarin Ginger Gin Sour and the Bourbon Ball Martini complement dishes such as Bang Island mussels, wings, and baby Hasselback potatoes.

“We are thrilled to unveil our new name and identity,” said The Starling General Manager, Kathryn Day, in a press release. “Atlanta is constantly growing and changing. Likewise, our history is layered and ever-changing. We aim to embody our city’s edge energy, while infusing a bold sense of bespoke consideration to be a home for the larger Atlanta community and the next generation of travelers.”

Aside from Lantana, The Starling offers day passes to the hotel’s terrace-level pool, which includes food and beverage service and the option to rent private cabanas. In addition, immersive programs and experiences, including “Night Shade Bingo at Lantana”, hosted by Atlanta drag artist Taylor Alxndr, and weekly live music are expected to begin soon.
