What happens after Falcons slash food prices?

What happens when an NFL team takes a chainsaw to outrageous stadium concession prices?

The Atlanta Falcons hope only good things. But one thing is clear: the team still expects to make some profit on food and drinks even with the lowered prices. Falcons owner Arthur Blank recently announced he will slash prices for food and drink staples — you know, hot dogs and beer, pretzels and soft drinks, etc. — when the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium opens in downtown Atlanta next year.

Hot dogs will cost about a third as much as they now do at the Georgia Dome. A beer will be $3 less.

Why, you might ask, are the Falcons doing this "revolutionary" thing now? Find out more in my latest Unofficial Business column on myAJC.com. (You'll also learn what the lowest priced ticket is at the new stadium and how many hot dogs that equals.)
